About the WWW-Site

6th May 2009
Temporary notice: We are currently experiencing some problems with the web page delivery. Two issues may affect members:
  • The backup server has information prior to 30th April so any changes in the last week may be lost (at least temporarily).
  • The page delivery is currenlty very badly formatted if you use the Firefox web browser. For the time being, we recommend using Internet Explorer on a PC and Safari on a Mac.
With apologies from the web team,
Chris Petrie.

The new BSR home page (http://www.bsr.org.uk) has been redesigned (May 2004) automatically to direct you to whichever web page server is active; this is intended to reduce the risk of disruption to our service to members if there are hardware or other problems at any site. This is part of our continuing effort to provide a reliable service to members and further developments are currently (August 2004) being undertaken. If you bypass the page "http://www.bsr.org.uk" you may fail to find the active web page server.

To view a recent development report produced for the BSR Bulletin (Volume 46), click here:

Word document BSR Website Development Report (Jan, 2004), J.Harvey and M.F.Webster.

These pages are located on two servers: the WWW server of the University of Wales, Swansea, courtesy of the Institute of Non-Newtonian Fluid Mechanics and a BSR-owned backup server located in the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, courtesy of the School of Mechanical and Systems Engineering.

Suggestions for additional information are welcome, as is constructive criticism.
